The LL.M specialization in Global Business Law program will offer a rich, advanced course of study in this increasingly important field, leveraging the expertise and internationality for which Hebrew University Law School is internationally renowned.
The program will offer students core and foundational courses in the main fields of law and legal practice relating to global business – international contracting, comparative commercial law, transnational commercial law, and investment and trade law.
That will be supplemented by a wide variety of specialized and related courses in the fields of international law, conflict of laws, commercial law, intellectual property, and business ethics. Students interested in exploring the relationship between business-related religious law and the development and content of positive and internationalized business will have that option.
Our outstanding faculty, comprised of top academics and practitioners, will teach the courses. Adding to that, the program will draw on scholars with expertise in aspects of global business law from several common and civil law countries - such the United States, France, Canada, the United Kingdom (including those instrumental in the development of transnational commercial law as an academic discipline).
The program will be taught in Jerusalem, a city with a rich history at the center of trade and commerce, from antiquity, through the Middle Ages, and, most recently, as seen is Israel’ role as ‘start-up nation’, an incubator for a range of high technology companies. It will seek students from abroad wishing to broaden and deepen their ties to Israel and Israeli legal institutions. The program will offer a unique experience to aspiring and practicing lawyers, academics, those seeking a combined legal-business expertise including corporate counsel, and policy makers. Courses would be open to students in other programs at the Faculty of Law.
