Dr. Limor Yehuda

Dr. Limor Yehuda holds a PhD in Law from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at The Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University, and at the Minerva Center for the Rule of Law Under Extreme Conditions at the Haifa University and an adjunct lecturer of Transitional Justice at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2019-2020 Limor was a post-doctoral fellow at the Transitional Justice program at the Minerva Center for Human Rights in Tel-Aviv University.

Limor’s doctoral dissertation, done under the guidance of Professors Barak Medina and Yuval Shany from the Hebrew University, won the 2020 Malcolm and Judith Shaw Prize for an outstanding doctoral dissertation in the fields of public international law and human rights. A book based on her dissertation titled “Collective Equality: Human Rights and Democracy in the Resolution of Ethno-national Conflicts and Peace,” is to be published by Cambridge University Press (forthcoming 2023). The book’s thesis develops the concept of “Collective Equality” as a new theoretical basis for the law of peace. Collective Equality endorses national groups as legitimate actors and sets proper relations among them based on equality and non-domination.

Limor returned to academia after meaningful career as a lawyer, including six years at Israel's Supreme Court as a legal assistant and member of Chief Justice Aharon Barak’s legal team and later as a human rights lawyer and director of the department for human rights in the Occupied Territories at the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI).

In addition to her academic work, Limor is a founding member of A Land for All (“Two States, One Homeland”), a movement focused on offering a new paradigm to the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on a modified confederacy model.
