Giorgio Sacerdoti is an Emeritus Professor of International Law at Bocconi University in Milan, where he has made significant contributions to the field of international economic law. His esteemed career includes serving as a member of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization from 2001 to 2009, including a term as its chairman. Professor Sacerdoti's expertise spans international trade law, foreign investments, and commercial and investment arbitration. He has held visiting professorships at prestigious institutions worldwide and has authored numerous publications, solidifying his reputation as a leading authority in international economic law and dispute resolution. He  has also addressed in his writings and professional activity issues of protection of religious freedom and the right of minorities; he currently serves as a member of the Italian Government’s Advisory Commission on freedom of religion.
