On Friday, 15th of December, a symposium was held at the Belgium House on Edmond J. Safra campus, about the book by Prof. Chaim Gans: A Political Theory for the Jewish People.
The symposium was held in cooperation of the Hebrew University's Faculty of Law and the Jerusalem Review of Legal Studies Journal.
Ganz's book continues the project of defending what he regards as equal Zionism. The book attacks both traditional Zionism (which is hierarchical in Gans's opinion) and post-Zionism, and defends the claim that the justification for Zionism must grant the right of self-determination to both Jews and to the Palestinians. The event was attended by three commentators: Alan Patten of Princeton University, Helder de Schutter of the University of Leuven and Avner Inbar of Tel Aviv University. Chaim Ganz replied and then held a discussion.
The symposium will be published in the Jerusalem Review of Legal Studies Journal.
