Crime, Victimization, and Law Enforcement: Local and International Perspectives

The Israeli Society of Criminology is pleased to invite you to its Bi-Annual Meeting, which will be held on 17-18 May 2000. The main theme of the Meeting will focus on the local and international aspects of crime and victimization as well as on the available responses to these phenomena. The Meeting provides a platform for researchers, students and professionals within the field of criminology to present their scientific activity to the criminological community in Israel. The Conference is held for the third time and continues the tradition of productive academic discourse among researchers and professionals.
During the Meeting, the names of the Israeli Association of Criminology award winners for 2016 will be announced: the Lifetime Achievement in Criminology Award; the Outstanding Student Paper Award, and the President’s Prize. Call for Nominees will be published soon by the Head of the Award Committee, Prof. Simha Landau.
Researchers from academic institutions as well as independent researchers are invited to propose research papers to be presented at the conference. We welcome submissions from various disciplines and those using a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches. Proposals can be submitted for individual presentations, full sessions, round tables and posters related to the conference theme. We also invite proposals for art exhibitions by organizations or individuals involved in the field of criminology.
Single Session Proposals: Should include title, presenter’s name, institutional affiliation, keywords (ideally drawn from the list of topics below), and an abstract of up to 200 words. Abstracts should include a general description of the topic, as well as a description and method of research findings, if relevant.
Panel Proposals: Should include the title, participants’ names and institutional affiliations, keywords, a brief description of the panel, and a separate abstract for each presentation (up to 200 words each).
Round Table Proposals: Round tables are suitable for informal presentations of research in progress and on-going collaborative projects. Proposals should include title, participants’ names and institutional affiliations, keywords, and abstract not exceeding 200 words describing the research, the research method, findings where applicable, and questions that emerge from the research.
Artistic Exhibition Proposals: Should include the title, presenters’ names and institutional affiliations, keywords and abstract not exceeding 200 words. The Committee will consider artistic and therapeutic projects that are related to the conference theme.
Poster Proposals: Should include title, presenter’s name, institutional affiliation, keywords and abstract not exceeding 200 words. Posters should present work in progress or initial findings.

Proposals should be submitted to the Academic Committee at Israel.criminology.association@gmail.com, with the applicant’s name, affiliation, phone, email information. All proposals will undergo a peer-review process.
The deadline for submitting proposals for a single papers, Panels, round tables, and artistic exhibition is Tuesday 31.1.2017. The deadline for submitting poster proposals is Friday, 31.3.2017.
